JULY
Ana had a couple more 4-hour background vocals taping sessions with her friend who sings Neil Diamond music. Marathon recordings, but soon her voice will be heard by "the masses."

At the office, one of their promotional things is showing off the HP designed OCC chopper. Here Ana poses with it, as it's being displayed at the site cafeteria.

After what seemed like an absence of forever (but it had only been since Thanksgiving) Ana returned to their favorite karaoke joint to sing and mingle again with old friends.  It was like she'd never been away. Too much fun!

Ana attended her 29th high school reunion, sharing the night with the previous year's class and their 30th. It was great fun seeing old friends from both years. Of course, she got all dolled up too, one of her favorite things to do (photo at right).

It's been two months since Mockingbird closed, and Ana had said she was taking a break between shows .... but we all know how that goes with performers!  A theatre friend of hers directing Sondheim's Assassins asked her to come to callbacks, as he'd amazingly gotten few females at the auditions (shocking - usually it's at least a 2:1 ratio women to men!)  So even with an awful conflict schedule (minor producer duties with Music Man and family vacation in September) she still won a role in the musical, as the would-be assassin, Sarah Jane Moore, who luckily is more of a comic-relief role rather than a menacing one. So she'll be back on stage singing again. and if you're wondering why I took this role ....

Shows Ana saw with or featuring friends: Das Barbecu, at the theater where she performed Mockingbird; Gypsy with one of her junior show kids as the lead, now she's all grown up(!); Wonderful Town with several friends acting and playing in the orchestra (she went to see it twice and went to both cast parties too! Joyce was home from her dad's and went the second time - what fun!)

  AUGUST
Technically, Ana is juggling three shows now - rehearsals for Assassins are in full swing, she has Board duties doing publicity, costume building, and lobby-sitting for Music Man, and she had her first production meeting for Pippin, which has auditions for her young people just after Thanksgiving. Not really a tough schedule, but it sounds impressive. And she loves every minute! (Picture at right is a dance rehearsal where she and her fellow felons are gavotting with their guns - how's that for alliteration.)

Joyce goes back to her dad's for 3 more weeks after she takes a week of Counselling 101 at college. This is where she finds out the tips and tricks for selecting courses, how to navigate the campus, and other helpful info like that to make her transition to college go smoothly.

The gals spent some social time with friends at a pool party, and also at a murder mystery dinner, where they got to dress up and act our parts of a fun murder mystery game, all while enjoying dinner. And for a good cause too; their host is doing an Ironman at the end of this month, and this was one of his fund-raisers.

Football season begins as well, and they went to a pre-season game at the Stick.

The HP Choir taping crew again recorded this season's songs so the rest of the choir can learn their parts easily. Many of the songs for the Winter Holiday season have already been recorded in previous years, so this taping session was much easier than past sessions. Ana is back to being an Alto again, at least for the taping.

Shows with or starring friends: None!! Too busy with other activities.

  SEPTEMBER
Went to Hawaii for our Fall vacation. It was a graduation present for Joyce, and we went with Nana and Gwen. What a grand time!  It's been 13 years since Ana & Joyce had last been to Hawaii together.  Check out the pictures.

The day after they returned, Ana started tech week of Assassins, and opened the following Saturday night! The show got some  great reviews, and Ana got to see some old friends after the shows that she hadn't seen in a long time ... one friend was from high school, and it had been 30 years! Check out the Pictures!
