We had to celebrate
Thanksgiving early so
we drove to our
favorite destination
for fun in the sun ...
and no crowds!

    The trams and sidewalks
were virtually empty,
as was the park.
Awesome!!

  We got a great discount
at our favorite hotel on
the suite we've had
before ... we each get
our own room ... sweet!
And at the Tangerine
Bar, AJ our bartender
took really good care
of us. How cool is that!
While we were in the area, we checked
out Whittier College, and drove by the
Crystal Cathedral.

In case you forget where
you are, the water tower
at the train station will
remind you.

Mickey and Minnie
were on Main Street
greeting the crowds

Goofy clowned around
at the firehouse with the
Firehouse Band.

Pooh was greeting guests by Splash Mountain.
Mary danced with her Button Band
 in front of the Castle.

  Posing with the park photographers
in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle.
And in front of the signature icons
of each of the two parks.
We got VIP seating at
the holiday parade, right
in front of the train
station.
Waiting for the
Mark Twain
in front of the
Golden Horseshoe.
    The nice, restful ride on
this classic paddlewheel
around the island is
never tiring.

We also got VIP
seating for Fantasmic,
which was the first time
we've seen it in a few
years.

We got fastpasses for
Space Mountain, Indy
and Soarin' over Calif.

We also watched the
Tiki Room birds and
rode the Jungle Cruise.

Of course we rode the
monorail. This was a
glass wall panel at
the Tomorrowland
station.
We arrived at the park on the first official day of holiday decorations.
We love to see the Nightmare Before Christmas decorations at the
Haunted Mansion.  And it took a couple days, but we finally found a
line at Small World that was only 20 minutes long (no fastpasses!)
so we got to see the holiday lights and costumes there too.

The Toy Story Arcade ride wasn't done when we were there in March.
It was this time, so we waited 45 minutes in line ... and it was worth it!

The new Innoventions display harkens back to the Carousel of Progress.
This one is sponsored by HP among others. Very cool! Joyce said she
could spend a whole day here easily.

    Lovely holiday
decorations in
New Orleans
Square.

The treehouse at dusk.

Holiday decorations
in Critter Country.

Resting, waiting for the
monorail at the Grand
Californian.

The hotel's stained
glass door.

    This was an astonishing
sight ... the lagoon with
no water in it! Getting
ready for the next great
attraction.

And in the Blue Sky Cellar there were several
displays describing what would be coming in the
next 3 years.  We can hardly wait!!

Waiting for the parade from our VIP seats. And
Joyce loves seeing all the Mickey balloons.

The holiday decorations around the castle ...
by day and by night. What a wonderful trip.
