An Early Birthday Adventure to Disneyland and SeaWorld

Three birthday girls got to celebrate their birthdays by going to Disneyland and Sea World. Milestone birthdays were 40 and 70, with Joyce celebrating a palindrome birthday, her 11th (the same forward and backward!)

Disneyland is still celebrating it's birthday --that would be it's 45th -- in case you couldn't tell ...

Weather was beautiful, but warm, and Walt and Mickey welcomed us as always.

The park has more fast-pass rides now. We got to ride the new Autopia which was very popular. It definitely needed to be a fast-pass ride. Indiana Jones is also now a fast-pass. Our adventure there was that the ride broke down as we were 5 minutes from boarding, and it was 45 minutes before the passengers could continue with the ride. But Nana got to finally ride in those crazy desert vehicles before she turned 70!

The fireworks were, of course, awesome! dude :-) and Fantasmic was, as usual, fantasmic. It was generally felt that of all the "shows" it was THE BEST.

Old standby rides like the Mark Twain paddlewheel boat and It's a Small World are still there. We still ride them too -- they give you a sense that some things NEVER change. We like that!

We still love the flamingeaux the best in the parade. Each time we see it we have to take a picture of those crazy birds!

We took the videocam this trip, and taped the parade, fireworks and Fantasmic. That tape will be a keeper!

Aurora is a new addition to the character line-up, we think because she's a participant in the parade with the other Disney princesses on the swan float. Joyce and Ana both got a photo op with Sleeping Beauty, but the camera only cooperated for Joyce.

We spent two days in the park this time, and then off down the highway to Sea World. We had a two-day pass, which was great since we'd never been there before. In many ways two days was not enough time to see it all, but after two days at Disneyland, it was more than enough to totally wear us OUT!
