A Wide and Wild Assortment of Props!

[CLICK AN IMAGE FOR A LARGER VIEW]

This was one of the biggest props shows ever that this theatre has put on (so we've been told by people who know!)  [left] Here is a view of the Act One table (we filled it entirely over again for Act Two.) As well, there are more props in boxes on the floor.  Usually two people manned the table so that there wouldn't be total chaos.

[right] Even though it was attached to a costume, Gertrude's tail became a prop. Ana got inspiration from the costumer with regard to pattern and fabric, but the construction and execution of the tail's assembly backstage between scenes was all hers. She wished that Gertrude could have had more entrances, so that the pieces, seven in all, could have been added one at a time as designed.  They're held together with backpack buckles at every color change, and to the skirt and the feather boa with even more buckles. And from end to end, it stretched from stage left to stage right, from one curtain to the other!

[above] Ana made some cotton candy for Mayzie to eat as she visited Horton at the Circus.  Mmmm, it was hard to keep the little kids from wanting to eat it!

[below] We borrowed the 36 needed Green Eggs and Ham from another theatre that had made them for their production.  Thank goodness, since it would have taken awhile to make them this great!

[below left] Ana didn't build the antlers for this drum, but she inspired the builder. The drum already had the deerskin exterior ... it just needed the additional decoration!

[below] Among the many signs she made for the show, here was one indicating Mayzie's vacation destination of Palm Beach.

[above right] Joyce is waiting for vocal warmups to begin on stage as Charles stage manages.

[left & right] We borrowed this giant tricycle from a community member. In order for the Cat to play piano while she drove, Ana had to fashion a keyboard holder that didn't have to permanently attach to the trike.  Four hangers later, this is what she had! Barely noticeable from the audience too.
