JULY

Joyce spent two weeks with her dad, and came home after the 4th of July holiday. But that's okay, since Ana was keeping herself busy with Mame. See the pictures of her many costumes and personas, as well as performance and candid photos from the show.

And as if that weren't enough she's associate producing West Side Story in Sunnyvale. They both got to see some old friends at the auditions. Joyce will be teching this show while her mom is performing in Bye Bye Birdie.

They went to the much-anticipated first showing of Pirates of the Caribbean with other pirate-loving friends. No chance to see live theatre since Mame played all month. But, they had lots of opportunities to sing karaoke at their favorite restaurant with friends from all the theatres they frequent.

AUGUST

Joyce will be a senior starting in the fall, so of course she had her senior portrait done in the summer. Isn't she beautiful!

The HP Choir met to discuss the fate of the organization. Fortunately, it was decided it will continue. Yes! More opportunities to sing.

The gals and the cast of West Side Story and some of the theatre's board members were volunteers at the local PBS station's pledge drive. Both Ana and Joyce were filmed several times, wearing their WSS shirts and answering phones.  It was very fun, as well as quite worthwhile.

Bye Bye Birdie rehearsals continued in earnest, and Ana was having a blast. The swooning scene kept getting bigger and bigger with each rehearsal!

The gals got to watch Sunday practice at Training Camp for their favorite football team. See the pictures!

SEPTEMBER

Joyce and Ana went to the final pre-season home game for their favorite team, who beat Joyce's other favorite team, the "electrifying" team from SoCal (where she wants to go to university eventually.)

Rehearsals, tech weeks, and finally opening nights came for West Side Story and Bye Bye Birdie. Ana missed a tech week BBB rehearsal to attend the opening performance of WSS, and it was well worth it.  The kids were phenomenal - funny, passionate, poignant. Well done! Here are the pictures for Birdie and Story.
